I took these photos a few years ago. There are many meanings that can be drawn from this, but the idea I'd like to focus on is purpose. It’s funny how you can look at a pine tree from miles away and automatically know what it is. But how do you know that it’s a pine tree? Hundreds of little, tiny pine needles all collectively come together to make it that way, and though they seem small and unimportant at first, they all have a purpose: to make up that pine tree. Kind of like cells make up your body, or how atoms make up everything that exists. So if you ever feel small, insignificant, or unimportant, think of the pine needles. They can’t see their grand purpose, and neither can you. This isn't some weird proverbial lesson I'm trying to shove down your throat; I'm speaking to myself as well. It's so easy to get caught up and distracted by everything that goes on in life. Sometimes I feel that I don't have enough hands to hold everything that's thrown at me. But we're all pine needles in the tree of life. There's no other pine needle like me, and there's none other like you. You have a purpose in the world.
